Sweden no Sunshine

I've travelled the world and must admit i'm a little biased about some of the best places to live, though Stockholm sounds exotic and quite sophisticated it simply doesn't have enough sunshine to make a human happy...this November it only had 35 minutes of sunshine per day..that extrapolated is a round 17.5 hours for the month...one thing that is sort of postive is that the temps have been relatively warm as the cloud cover prevents clear skies and traps heat...even so, no sunshine no Tartly Roud i'm a man who likes to bare all and get that vitamin D if you know what i mean....Tartly Roud

Global Warming Solution

After studying at the highest levels and attaining the wisdom of time ...i am very clear about the issue of global warming and climate change...the fact is that the most pressing issue of the global warming debate is what is a green house gas and it is well recognised by all experts who know their stuff is that over 90% of all greenhouse gases is made up of water vapour...yes water vapour and if we are to make any serious affect on this matter then we need to reduce all forms of water vapour..my solution like all great earth shattering solutions is simple...the people that spit and spray when they talk are major contibutors to the world's impending doom,they are environemntal pests and extremely selfish and should be dealt with severely and taxed accordingly...my new motto is say it dont spray it...save the planet...Tartly Roud

Farewell Malcolm's Hollywood

Tis sad when you see a man with a vision ...the real big picture ...so big that it doesn't fit into this planet or even this galaxy...if only Malcolm Turn bull was that man, alas he was a man that belonged to a different time, when you could rely just on your breeding and school as a reference, though the obese bank statement would also be handy to wave around...like an ill prepared school boy who tried to bluff his way through an exam with his shorts and shirt and socks pulled up to the knees,to the untrained eye he did look like he meant business but the results were horribly clear. Alas Our beloved Malcolm who had supped on the silver spoon from the womb to the man ,now had baked a souffle of disastrous proportions and as any foodie knows its bloody near impossible to eat a flopping souffle with a silver spoon cleanly...Tartly Roud

Life can be dangerous

There over the years have been many threats to the great Australian way of life...First of all we had to sail treacherous seas to get here then we had to dispossess the local indigenous peoples of their land, introduce diseases that afflicted them and create policies that almost wiped out their culture and their very being(you wont find that in the kids school books), once established we then had to fight several wars..most not really concerning us, The Boer War, WW1 and then of course WW2 which saw the real defence of this land from the invading Japanese, since then we have fought a few more wars and survived some annoying pests such as the Sugar Cane Toad and the Rabbit but now we are once again under serious threat, dare i say a dire threat...the bloody thirsty dromedary is on the warpath and its viciousness knows no boundaries...everyone knows that camels are not supposed to get thirsty that's why they have humps..but when they do, its war...and now these home grown terrorists have their begun their intifada(as camels come from the middle east) and are trying to take over the Docker River township and its water supply ...the residents are fighting a guerrilla war with the invading forces(camels)..the only good camel is a dead camel in my language unless they have a saddle and taking you for a ride around the pyramids of Giza..Tartly Roud

Born to Lead

For those that have a vast knowledge of life and all things that matter, its only on very rare occasions that a man stands up and enters the realm of greatness...that man has to be stoic,brave, courageous,intelligent,calm,insightful,strong willed,compassionate,radical but yet conservative,the ability to see the big picture and relatively good looking...no i am not referring to Sir Malcom Turnbull but that loveable Australian icon..Wilson" Iron Bar" Tuckey, like Tarzan living in the deepest darkest parts of the African jungles he grabbed the deadly ETS snake by the throat and valiantly tried to strangle the life out of it...well almost....Why the yanks refer to their Schlong as Wilson i don't really know...Tartly Roud

Communing with nature

Life has its many stresses and some say too much stress can shorten one's life span and even maybe cause cancer and other horrible ailments... i was very interested to hear that certain experts in health and well being are now saying that the key to a long happy life and freedom from illness is to commune with nature for at least 30 minutes a day....i deeply ponder this and wonder if i spend 30 minutes a day cutting down trees and shooting possums with my grandfathers rifle, could that be considered communing with nature and is it so wrong to want to eat nature whilst your doing it??...now that's food for thought...Tartly Roud

That dream holiday

Yes I've been dreaming about that tropical holiday..warm water and swaying palms with friendly locals..and not too far away and in our own back yard...accommodation that's fairly spartan and maybe a little regimented...OK its like a prison and your incarcerated but hey you've only just survived a tortuous sea journey and left a country we're they are trying to kill you ...all in all Christmas Island sounds quite cosy and yeah it still believes in the Crissy spirit...Tartly Roud

Oprah Winfrey ...Oh my God !

Gee i was absolutely devastated that Oprah Winfrey wont continue her show next year..can we imagine life without her gracing our beautiful plasma L.C.D big screens with her on again and off again personal drama,s, maybe i will have to get a life and create some of my own real life drama's...like become hugely obese then try and lose the weight through some weird and wacky way...something like dare i say it....exercise....well we can all rest easy ,as Oprah will launch her own channel so we can feel her presence 24/7 on the ether...life's good once again...Tartly Roud

Tinted Windows

Why is it that everyone these days has to have the darkest car tinted windows, they dont seem to want anyone to know who they are and i suppose it gives them some sort of Hollywood style anonymity...what i find strange is that they love to wave to you when it suits them to be seen...do what i do, ignore them and pretend you didn't see them...its hilarious watching them wave like lunatics .hoping and waiting for their wave back...no don't give them the joy...i don't....

..very distrubing to hear that a man threatening self harm was allegedly shot by police...i thought the idea these days is to stop those threatening self harm, to prevent them from harming themselves...i suppose the up side to this if we can call it that, is as least it removes the self harm element for this gentleman .Thinking of the big picture if we now applied this strategy on a more national basis to all those that threatened self harm were to be shot ,then we could wipe out this national mental health issue...obviously the down side is that the hospitals, doctors and nurses would be flat out mending people with gun shot wounds...but hey its only an idea...Tartly Roud
